Shootin' The Shit

Last week I got to shoot a photo with Ben Stewart (tag along with Owen and snake a photo). This was an awesome experience and a ton of fun. It was a good afternoon of skating, starting at the millennium skatepark (no not the rad one in Calgary) and then heading to this little kinked gem hiding somewhere in Sherwood park. Overall good time and fun day, thanks to Ben for letting me shoot this and thanks to Owen for all his help on "how to not be a complete goof."

A Day In The Life

I was super pumped to find this part on youtube. This is from the very first video I ever bought. I went to Surf 66(West Island local shop) and tried buying Baker 2G, but was turned away because of the language or some bullshit. Instead I picked up issue 45 of 411 VM and probably watched it close to 200 times in the span of a month. I watched 3 segments on this video constantly, even though it was a pain in the ass to fast forward and rewind through the commercials. The parts were the Calgary Millennium skatepark, which I have been most fortunate enough to skate before it gets bulldozed, Chandler skatepark in Arizona which I loved because they have Good Riddance - Start at Zero for the music and finally A Day In The Life with Mike V. To this day I have not found a more influential skate part. I don't know if it was because it was my first video I owned, or just because I love Mike's style so damn much, in any case here it is folks!

Hi, My Name Is Jason Lee

Most of you have probably heard of Jason Lee. The over the top actor, who's in just about every Jay and Silent Bob movie made. Before acting he was a pro skater and a pretty damn good one too. This is just a part from the Blind video, Video Days. It's off VHS and put onto youtube so the quality isn't great, but I still love it so I thought I'd share, enjoy!

Old News

I've really rekindled my love affair with skateboarding in the past two weeks out here in Saskatoon and have been skating the park just about every day. I'm putting up a video of Mike V's Battle Commander part from the Berrics website. It's an oldie but a goodie and as big of a douche as he is, he is still hands down my favorite dude to watch shred. When I grow up I want to be like Mike V, minus the rowdy fights.

The Only Bowls I Smoke Have Coping

So I've been out in Saskatoon for about 2 weeks now and I've been coming to the skatepark just about everyday. It's probably one of the most fun parks I've been to in a long time. It's got great flow but this is the gem of the city. The bowl is mint, it's quick smooth and the most fun thing this side of the country, if you are ever out in Saskatoon make it a point of hitting this thing up 'cause you'll waste away your afternoon here for sure.

From Airdrie With Love

This is a video that Matt Allen (fellow co-worker and friend) from Calgary put together. The filming is incredible and the kids down there really kill it. It's shot in Airdrie which is only a short drive from Calgary and right on the Canadian Rockies doorstep. It's small things like this that make me say "I love skateboarding", thanks Matt!

"Skateboarding Ruined My Life"

I was looking up Oliver Peck's Vans Slipsodes and came across this video on how he got into skating and why it ruined his life. For those of you who don't know Oliver Peck is a world renowned tattoo artist, who does some of the coolest American Traditional and can still shred pretty hard on a board.
